Lifting Equipment Inspection
Citadel’s periodic lifting appliance and lifting gear inspections and certifications are based on relevant equipment standards and the manufacturer’s instructions for use. That typically includes:
The inspection is performed by a qualified person who has been trained in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements. The inspection is performed in accordance with a written program that meets a standard published by an approved organization and has been reviewed by the employer or his authorized representative. The inspection program must include procedures for periodic inspections of all lifting devices, including their supporting structures, connections, rigging and load-restraining devices. The inspection program must be reviewed at least annually to ensure its adequacy and relevance to current circumstances.
The inspection must be documented and include:
- A check list (including identification of any deficiencies), which will indicate modifications made during operation of the device.
- A record of any repairs or modifications made after initial manufacture.
- A record of any repairs or modifications made after initial inspection.
